The Native American Cultural Center’s Spoken Word Series has been a long standing feature in our programming. Its longevity and success are a testament to the hard work and effort put forth by the series’ coordinators, past and present, and the outstanding spoken word artist who have contributed over the years. To commemorate the series and poets, the Native American Cultural Center (NACC) is currently finishing an anthology of poems submitted by many of the artists who have made the series the success it is today.
Keeping in mind the many different forms of our oral traditions and vocalized artistic expression, NACC would like to recast the net in the Spoken Word Series. We would like to continue to feature the outstanding poets from our community, but we also want to feature our vocalists, actors and any artistic expression of voice and word.

NACC BENEFIT FOR FRIENDSHIP HOUSE
The Native American Cultural Center will hosting “De-Colonizing Borders: TODOS SOMOS INDIOS, TODOS SOMOS IMMIGRANTES.” This event is a benefit for the IntertribalFriendship House, which is having financial troubles. Kim Shuck, Joe Navarro, Somos One of the Brown Buffalo Project, Gabriel Duncan, and more performers to be announced. This is an all ages show. There will be an open mic. Cover charge is $10, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Come out and support our artists as well as our community organizations.
