The San Francisco Human Rights Commission has announced that it will hold a public hearing on Native American issues in San Francisco on Thursday October 12, 2006. The hearing, starting at 4:30p.m., will be held at San Francisco City Hall, 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place, Room 416.
Why: The Commission wants to know more about the experiences of Native American people in San Francisco. A report with Findings and Recommendations will be created from the information collected from the oral and written testimonies of academics, service providers, educators, parents, youth, and community members.
The public is encouraged to attend.
What would we like to see? The Native American Cultural Center has been continually working on creating a café cultural center to be a gathering spot for the city’s indigenous people. To know more, Click Here.
